What is the Internet Governance course?

How the Internet is governed is critical. How we manage this precious global resource impacts our economic and social opportunities far into the future.


Internet Governance is the development and application by governments, the private sector, and civil society, in their respective roles, of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programs that shape the evolution and use of the Internet.


This course provides an overview of Internet governance, touching on key areas such as its history, policy principles, actors and stakeholders, infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, multilingualism, and cybersecurity.

 

The course also discusses and analyzes the multistakeholder model, examines the developmental aspects of Internet governance, and looks at the collaborative nature of achieving Internet security and resilience.


This particular training on INTERNET GOVERNANCE is moderated and awards Global Certification.

The training runs for 6 weeks on the Internet Society elearning platform. The first 4 weeks will include live moderated sessions. 

Requirements:

• Stable Internet connection

• Fully commit to complete 1 module per week online in your own time and hand in the assignment, plus, attend a 1 hour live moderated session per week.

• Post feedback on the learning platform.

• Prior understanding of the topic is an advantage but not a must.
